Watch Me Grow! For Pregnant Mothers!

portrait photography - watch me grow

The program applies to expecting parents or a new born (before 1 year old). There are basically 3 sessions of photography involved (approx 1 hr each session). All shoots can be done at the studio.

Pregnant mothers can start the first photography session with ‘Pregnancy Portrait’. All sessions may involve father and/or siblings of the baby. For the second session, we encourage clients to do it when the baby is born within the first two weeks. We will provide an image with a message (input by client) which can be used as ‘Thank You!’ cards or for you to email to friends. Images given are printable to 5″x7″.

Final session may be taken anytime after fullmoon, mostly 6 months or 1 year of age. After each session, clients will get a dvd montage playable on dvd players or computers. They can also choose to have the album printed or framed. With this program as we do not provide printable digital images, we provide printing services as an option.

Fee is (RM1500) is prepayable in advance during the first photography session. Should clients break the contract by not coming in for the sessions within the first year, the album will still be theirs but the studio will no longer offer the special program for them. To summarize, at the end of the 3 sessions, you will get:

1. A leather bonded album 8″x8″ with prints (20 pages)
2. 3 dvd montages (after each session as previews)

Alternatively for a flat fee of RM1800, you may choose the same package but with more flexibility of taking on-location shoots within Klang Valley. Outstation shoots can be specially arranged.

Andre + Arleen by JLP

Church Wedding of Andre & Arleen

Lately i’ve been blessed with a host of church weddings of which i’m ever so grateful to be part of. There is a certain charm to a church wedding and you can bet your sweet life that  i always look forward to covering one. I’d like to believe that this is how God wants me to honor him, as i’m guilty of occasionally missing Sunday mass. So with that confession aside, let me talk a little about our bride and groom for the day.

I’ve never met Arleen and Andre before but i was really grateful when they mentioned that they liked my work enough to sign us up. It was probably 3 weeks prior to the actual day that we met up to talk about the details of their wedding day. Of all the information that was noted down, one stood out the most that caught my attention; and that was to capture their wedding day as it is, as un-obstructive as possible. There is definitely nothing wrong with capturing moments as it is, but there are just certain moments that may need to be initiated by photographers for it to potentially become a candid moment. I’ve always believed in striking a balance between candid posing and being un-obstructive, as that way i feel we’re contributing alot more to a picture as a photographer than just taking snapshots of the day.

One example that i often see is the relatives would almost always stay away from the bride and groom to avoid being captured in the frame. Often times they’ll mistakenly feel that they’re being in the way of the picture and if that particular scene is left that way, you’ll most likely see a picture of a very lonely bride. So during the wedding day, i tend to constantly reassure my brides of what i plan to do, especially when the scene is asking to be set! And after that for the rest of the day, everything seem to fall perfectly into place. Everyone is more comfortable with this foreign object (me!) and most would be asking for their pictures to be taken! :)

Anyway, i think i’ve been ranting long enough. Below is the SDE (same day edit) slideshow that i’ve put together on their wedding day. Hope you’ll enjoy it :)  Yours truly, Andrew.

Ushering in the new year, 2012!

A Garden Wedding by Cynthia & Keng Li by JLP

Welcome back! This time we’re featuring a recent work by JLP; a garden wedding at The Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang. As some of you may already know, the resort takes it’s name from an old malay folk song that also means ‘a feeling of love’.  It is little wonder where this beautiful resort takes its inspiration from, as we immediately fell in love with it’s wonderful greens and the banyan trees that dotted the landscape. We were also blessed with golden rays from the setting sun which we took full advantage of during the ceremony. The bride and groom was absolutely gorgeous throughout the day and everyone was at their cheerful self. Can it get anymore lovelier than this?

Elsie & Adrian

Words cannot describe the happiness shared between them and I have put together a slideshow of images captured on their wedding day. Hope you’ll enjoy them!

An Oriental and Sikh Wedding

sikh wedding photography

Hi all, we’d like to share with you one of the most colorful weddings we’ve covered this year. It is especially heartwarming to be part of this wonderful wedding that was celebrated by people of all races. Below are some pictures of the celebration spanning over a period of 4 days.

Watch Me Grow With Baby Olivia

It’s not everyday you’ll get adventurous clients. This time around, we had Ginny our client who wanted pictures with a lifestyle theme. After a round of discussion, we decided to do the shoot indoors and outdoors and the place in mind was Sekeping Tenggiri, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. The venue was perfect as it combines both indoors and outdoors picture taking, making it easier for us to plan for an afternoon-evening shoot. The couple also made a point to book a room for a night stay, making this photoshoot session a lovely weekend trip for them. One of these days, i may book myself a nights stay as well!

Family Portrait With Dr. Yeoh

Recently we took a trip up north to do a family portrait for Dr. Yeoh and family. This was to be a series of portraits done at a time while we travelled around northern Malaysia.
